LC: to create sentences using the apostrophe for belonging

 

In your books, write 3 short sentences using 

1. an apostrophe to show belonging to ONE person

2. an apostrophe to show belonging to MORE THAN ONE person

3. a noun with s and no apostrophe to show more than one noun

 

LC: to use what I have read as a model for my own writing

 

 

 LC: To be able to multiply mixed numbers by whole numbers, creating larger mixed numbers.

 

 As dark clouds rolled across the sky, Mia hurried home from school. She usually took the long road, but today she chose a shortcut through the park. The wind whipped the trees and leaves skittered across the path. Halfway through, thunder rumbled loudly, making Mia jump. She pulled her jacket tighter and kept going. When she finally reached home, rain began to pour heavily. Mia smiled, glad she had trusted her decision.

 

R- What weather signs showed a storm was coming?

I- Why did Mia decide to take the shortcut this time?

C- Why do you think the author describes the wind and trees in detail?

 

LC: Evaluate how authors use figurative language, considering the impact on the reader.
