With your talk partner, talk about how someone might feel if they are being bullied.

What words did you come up with?

THE INCIDENT AT THE SCHOOL GATE (15 minutes)

What is happening in this incident? What emotions might be involved?

With your talk partner, choose one character in the picture and talk about their behaviour.

  • How are they involved in the incident?
  • How do you think they are feeling?

Now let's discuss together - who is or are:

How could this incident have been stopped and/or prevented?

Did you think about:

  • Someone could have told a teacher.
  • The children who are laughing could stop laughing along.
  • What the adults in the picture could have done.

Do we understand that bullying can be a group behaviour  understand the roles involved in bullying?

BEING KIND AND USING OUR POWER FOR GOOD  (10 minutes)

What can you do to make someone feel included?

What could you say if you saw someone being unkind?

On our big sheet of paper, we are going to work together to create a kindness agreement.

For example:

We will help others feel included.

We will speak kindly.

We will tell an adult if something’s wrong.

At Stoneyholme Primary School, everyone is welcome, everyone must feel included and safe. We will all sign our kindness agreement and work hard to make sure our behaviour reflects this.
