What do you think would happen if you only ate chips?

  • Nutritional Deficiencies: You'd miss out on crucial nutrients, leading to deficiencies that could affect everything from bone health to immune function.

  • Weight Gain: Chips are typically high in calories and fat, which could lead to weight gain and associated health problems.

  • Digestive Issues: A diet low in fiber (like chips) can cause constipation and other digestive problems.

  • Blood Sugar Spikes: The high carbohydrate content can cause fluctuations in blood sugar levels, increasing the risk of insulin resistance.

  • Heart Health Risks: Regular consumption of chips, especially if they are fried or high in salt, could increase the risk of heart disease.

What makes a food healthy or unhealthy?

Having too much unhealthy food can affect our bodies.

Unhealthy Food Detectives

Your teacher will split you into teams of 3.

 Game Rounds

  • Round 1: One team picks a food card from the pile without showing it to others. They give clues (like color, taste, etc.) while the other teams guess the food.
  • Round 2: Once guessed, the team must decide if the food is healthy or unhealthy and place it in the correct column on the board.

If you place it correctly, you earn a point. If you place it incorrectly, we will discuss why the food is unhealthy.
