Tuesday

To be able to measure mass in kilograms.

Let's try the guided practice together.

Turn to page 139 and 140.

To know how to ask and punctuate questions.

Using the notes you made yesterday, today you are going to write questions for other people to answer.

We already know different ways we can open a question using the question hand. We also know that EVERY question ends with a question mark.

We can write different types of questions.

What do owls have at the end of their feet?

This question is hard because it means that the player has to think back to what they can remember without any help. To make it a little easier, you could give them multiple choices.

What do owls have at the end of their feet?

a) wings

b) plumage

c) toes

d) talons

This is still quite hard because there are many words that link to the features of an owl. To make it easier, you could give them fewer choices.

What do owls have at the end of their feet?

a) toes

b) talons

The choice is yours. You could always ask them different types of questions.

The Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. Every year, hundreds of thousands of nature lovers like you take part, helping to build a picture of how garden birds are faring.

We are going to take part in the Big garden Birdwatch on Friday 23rd January.

How can we make sure that the birds in our school grounds have their basic needs met in the winter?

What will they find it hard to find?

To protect the birds in our  school grounds and help them to survive over winter we are going to make bird feeders and hang them in the trees and near the global gardens. We need to make sure we provide the birds enough food each week, not just once.
