To be able to understand that grouping is a way of dividing, and use the division (÷) and equals (=) signs.

Let’s have a go at the guided practice.

Turn to page 85 and 86

As part of learning when reading traditional tales, we learned what verbs are used for in writing. Can you remember?

Verbs can be used to describe an action, that's doing something. For example, like the word 'jumping' in this sentence: The rabbit was jumping in the field. They can also be used to describe a state of being, that's feeling something.

Let’s watch this video again to remind ourselves.

Can you identify any verbs in the text below?

Talk with the person sat next to you before sharing your ideas with the rest of the class.

How many verbs can you find in our story?

Go to Seesaw and circle all the verbs you can find.

In your English book write a sentence for three different verbs.

For example

The rabbit bounded across the farmer's field.

To identify and study a variety of plants and animals within their habitat.

As biologists you are going to research what lives in a desert habitat.

Desert habitats cover around one third of the Earth's surface.

Deserts are an area of land where it hardly ever rains. Some can be dry and very hot, but some can be very cold.

The Sahara desert is extremely hot during the day and cold at night but others, like the Gobi desert, can be a lot colder.

A hot desert is often covered in sand and the plants and animals that live there are adapted to live in very hot and dry conditions.
