Learn and recite a range of poems using appropriate intonation
Yesterday we looked at the poem 5 Little Pumpkins. Let's remind ourselves of how we use different sounds in our voices to read with expression.
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate
The first one said, "Oh my, it's getting late!"
The second one said, "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
Ooh, went the wind and out went the light
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight
Today is performance day!
You have time for one last rehearsal with your group before performing the poem for the class.
Today we are going to continue and finish Review 1 (Number to 100) in our MNP books. This is independent learning but you can still use the resources in your math pots.
Turn to page 23 and 24.

Can we reflect on and express how we feel about our own artwork?
Talk to your partner about the sculptures we have created this half term.
- Minibeasts out of natural materials
- Trolls out of clay
- Family of Man out of clay
- Willow windows and stars
Which has been your favourite sculpture to create? Why?
Was it the sculpture you made or the material or the artist who inspired your work?

Do you understand that it is important to tell someone if something about your family makes you unhappy or worried?
“Tommy’s Worry”
Tommy was a cheerful little boy who loved playing football and drawing dinosaurs. He always had a big smile at school. But one day, Tommy didn’t feel like smiling.
At home, things had started to feel different. His mum and dad were arguing a lot, and it made Tommy feel sad and a bit scared. He didn’t know who to talk to, so he kept it all inside.
At school, his teacher Miss Patel noticed Tommy wasn’t joining in like he usually did.
“Is everything okay, Tommy?” she asked kindly.
Tommy looked down and stayed quiet. Miss Patel said gently, “If anything is worrying you, you can always talk to me.”
At lunchtime, Tommy found the courage to tell Miss Patel what was happening at home. She listened carefully, gave him a tissue, and said, “Thank you for telling me. You did the right thing. I’m here to help.”
After that, Tommy felt a bit lighter. Miss Patel helped him talk to someone who could help his family, and little by little, things got better.

Who could you talk to if something made you feel sad or worried?
Sometimes, we feel worried or sad about things at home. It's never wrong to talk to a trusted adult.
What is a trusted adult?
Trusted adults are adults you know well, who care for you and help you to feel safe. You can go to them with your worries. They will listen to you and give you the help you need.
