Wednesday
Recognise the use of repetitive language in a traditional tale.
On Monday, we made predictions about what would happen in the story from what we already knew and the clues given to us on the front cover.
Today we are going to read through the story again and create a story map to help remember the important events. One way to help us remember is to join in with language that is repeated again and again.

Let’s write a list of the repetitive vocabulary used in the story.
Let’s look at these again.
Turn to page 33 and 34.
Is POWER always a positive thing?
To know how to identify ways in which humans use (and abuse) the natural world.
Since we started Year 2, we have been looking at all the beautiful things around us on our planet.
- We have watched videos of the amazing plants
- We have learned that Governments around the world set goals to protect the planet- these are Global Goals
- We have heard stories from the Bible about what Christians are taught about God's Creation
- We have drawn pictures to show what we know
- We have learned about ways Christians say thank you to God during Harvest
In what ways do we use our world?
Talk to your partner to come up with 3 ways. It might be as simple as a walk in the park or picking flowers for a family member.
If humans have the power to use the planet, do they have the power to destroy it?
Can you think of something humans do that might be harmful to Earth?
Let's listen to a story together to see if there can be a change that is positive.

Unfortunately, this story isn't completely made up.

Your task is to draw a picture thinking about the title:
We have the POWER to...
You might want to split your drawing into two and show things that are wonderful and beautiful about Earth on one side and all the ways humans destroy it on the other. Or you might have a creative way of showing this in another way. It's up to you!!
