Tuesday
To give opinions and support with reasons.
At Stoneyholme Primary School, we promote the fundamental British Values, which help us to be good citizens.
Today we are going to focus on Democracy and Individual Liberty.
Democracy- people have a say on what happens through voting.
Individual Liberty- having the freedom to make our own choices and do what we want, within reason.
This supports or learning on Article 12: Every child has the right to share their opinions and have their views taken seriously.
We are going to begin by reading one of our tales. There are many to choose from, so we are going to vote for which ones we read. To make it fair, we will read the ones voted for by the majority (the greater number) of people.
Think about which character you would most/least like to meet and why. Share your ideas with your partner.
Remember to give reasons for your choice,. Here are some examples:
I would like to meet Jack because he is brave when he climbs up the beanstalk, clever when he hides from the giant and fast when he runs away.
I would least like to meet the big, bad wolf because he is cunning when he tries to trick the pigs, scary when he blows their house down and angry when he doesn't get to eat the 3 Little Pigs.
To be able to add a 2-digit number and ones without renaming.
Let's try the guided practice together.
Turn to page 25 and 26.
What is a museum?
A museum is like a big, magical treasure chest where you can find all kinds of amazing things that people from long ago or even today have made or used.
We are very lucky at Stoneyholme because we have our very own museum.
Click on the link.

We are going to visit the museum in groups every week.
Can you investigate and describe the importance for humans of exercise, eating the right amounts of different types of food, and hygiene?
Physical activity describes any movement that uses up your body's energy.
There are lots of ways to be physically active, tell your partner 3 that you can think of.
Exercise helps us:
-
Keep our hearts healthy – just like a car engine, our heart works better when we use it.
-
Build strong muscles and bones – running, jumping, and climbing help us grow stronger.
-
Stay a healthy weight – moving our bodies burns energy and keeps us fit.
-
Feel happy and sleep better – exercise can boost our mood and help us rest well.
-
Breathing faster
-
Heart beating faster
-
Getting warmer or sweaty
-
Feeling thirsty
These changes show our body is working hard!
We are going to go outside and see if we notice these changes to our body when we exercise.
