Today we are going to share a story that is written in a different way from all the rest we have read so far.

Whilst you are listening to the story, think about what is the same as the other stories and what is different.

Now it's your turn to think about what you would say if you were one of the characters from a tale. Work with a partner and each have a turn at acting out what you might say. Your teacher will model first.

Which character are you pretending to be?

Who are you talking to?

What event are you talking about?

To be able to add tens by recognising its relationship to adding ones.
