In pairs, children make the number using ten frames- filling 10 first. Discuss the number being 10 and another number.

What words can we use to describe them?

Are they tall? or short?

Can you remember when we had our fire? 

Can you think of different describing words for the fire? 

Let's use our senses to discuss what we found out:

I could see..

I could smell.

I could feel.

I could hear.

 

On red, yellow or orange paper, draw a large flame, cut it out and write a short sentence on your flame. 

The fire is hot. 

The flames were orange.
