Tuesday

Remembrance Day is a special day when we stop and remember the people who fought in wars to help keep us safe and free.

It happens every year on November 11th. On this day, we think about the soldiers and helpers who worked bravely in wars a long time ago — and those who still help keep peace today.

At 11 o’clock, many people stop what they are doing and have a quiet two minutes to think and say thank you in their hearts.

People often wear a red poppy flower on their clothes. The poppy is a symbol of remembrance because these flowers grew on the battlefields after the First World War.

We remember to say thank you for the courage and kindness of all those who helped in difficult times.

Adaptive teaching

Yesterday we identified the characters, setting and plot of our shortened version of Zog. Today we will think about changes we can make to write an innovated story.

Remember- we are writing a fairytale with dragons and princesses, so we must keep to the theme. Racing cars and spaceships will not work.

Now we are going to use role play to develop our ideas about what the characters say and do in our innovated story.
