To be able to add by counting on

My friend said that if she puts 5 in her head and counts on, she can find the total number. Is this possible? How would you count on? Talk to your partner.

How can we use a number line to help? Show me.

Will this work with other numbers?

Remember, 'to add' is to bring together two groups using addition.

Orally planning and rehearsing ideas for an innovated story.

Now that we have our new stories, we need to rehearse them with actions ready to write them next week.

What fieldwork skills do we need to identify features in our school environment?

What we already know:

Settlement- a place where one or more people have chosen to live. They can be big or small, temporary or permanent.

Physical features- natural things that were already in place even before humans settled there (trees, rivers)

Human features- things that people have made (buildings, roads)

Investigating our settlement

On Tuesday, we used a map of our school to help us in Maths. Today, as Geographers, we are going to walk around the rest of the school grounds to carry out fieldwork, which means investigating our surroundings out of the classroom, to see if we can find any human and physical features.

When you have spotted a feature, tell you teacher if it is human or physical. Remember to look at what you can see near and far.

Take a picture using Seesaw and write a label, either Human or Physical.

How did Abraham express his trust in God’s promise?

Last week we read the story and acted out the story.

Can you cut the following pictures and stick them in the correct order in your RE book. Can you write a sentence next to each picture to explain what is happening in the story?

Adaptive Teaching- role play the story and sort the pictures as a group.
