Tuesday 1st April

LC: to create an effective plan for an explanation

Before we begin our plan, let's practise sequencing ideas about the human life cycle using adverbials.

first      second        next         then

after that       following that

For example:

The second stage of the human life cycle is when the baby grows into a toddler.

Think of 2 more and tell your talk partner.

Let's think about the text we are writing.

What is the

audience

purpose

structure?

Your teacher will model how to plan for

an explanation text.

You will use her model to plan for your own explanation text based on

the life cycle of a human.

LC: Use a variety of techniques to comprehend a non-fiction text.

Today we are going to practise using effective skills to help us understand a text and demonstrate our understanding in different ways.

 Tuesday 1st April 2025

LC: Discuss and debate things I consider to be true that others may disagree with.

What stories that contain messages have we learned about in RE so far this year?

What's the story? What's the message? Do you agree that the message is true?

With your partner, create a story that contains an important message you believe to be true.

Decide how you will present the story - you could produce a comic strip, write it, act it out.

Share your story with the class - can they identify the message?

When others have shared their stories with you, consider whether you agree that the message is true and your reasons for thinking that way.
