LC: To draw inferences around character’s thoughts, feelings, actions, motives and justify with evidence from the text.

Let's re-read the poem.

What do you know about Macavity?

Tell me more…

Your task: You will now take on the role of chief detective and write some detective notes on the crimes Macavity has committed.

Use the pictures below to help you infer what his crimes are.

What would he be thinking or feeling about each crime?

What would his motive be for each crime?

Teacher model.

Macavity is stealing fish in the night. He looks like he is tip-toeing so he doesn't wake anyone up.  I think he is feeling brave because he looks like he is showing off the fish and he thinks no-one will see him. I think his motive/reason for stealing the fish is because cats like fish and he may eat them for his supper.

Your turn

LC:  To list and explain how the seasons and their associated weather affect our lives.

Create a key notes presentation which lists and explains how the seasons and their associated weather affect our lives

You can choose between activities, clothing, food types, animals and even daylight hours. How does the weather affect peoples’ lives in Italy?

How does our local area (Lancashire Burnley)  change with the different seasons e.g. the falling of autumn leaves or 11 sprouting of spring buds and how people use their local areas for different activities at different times of year.

Reflection: When celebrating specal festivals it can be easy to focus on the preparations, clothes and presents. Let's remind ourselves of the true meaning of the festival.
