LC- To understand why the 5 Ks are important to Sikhs.
Once someone has made a commitment to being a Sikh, they become part of the community called the Khalsa. The Khalsa was established by the last human Guru - Guru Gobind Singh. Khalsa means 'pure'.
As members of the Khalsa, Sikhs wear five special symbols. As all Sikhs wear the same things, it shows they are all together as members of the community and shows their identity. Each item has a special significance.
Sometimes these symbols are referred to as the 5Ks. Why do you think this is?
Look at the meanings below. Which meaning matches which item?
- God has no end, no beginning and we are all connected to God.
