Steam trains burn coal in a firebox to heat the water and make steam. It goes fast and puffs out steam because it burns coal. They pull lots of coaches and have powerful engines. Steam trains can be different colours but they all have chimneys. The train driver drives the train and can go fast or slow. People like steam trains because they are old and exciting!
