Wednesday

To know that bodies and feelings can be hurt by words and actions.

Sharing your feelings in different ways

Part 1

Last week we looked at a range of words that describe feelings.
Talk partners

Can you remember some of those feelings?

What does it mean to get hurt?

Sometimes we say or do things we don’t mean. This could have a negative affect on someone.

Talk partners

What is an ouch moment?

Can you give an example?

Doing the right thing takes courage and takes practice. Be nice, be kind, be friendly and do the right thing.

Part 2

Last week we discussed different ways a person can hurt another person through words and actions. Look back at the video and remind yourself what feelings are.

Today we are going to focus and think of an exciting time.

Talk partner
Think of a time when someone did something to make you excited.

Sometimes we share our thanks in different ways. Can you think of ways we could give our thanks to someone who has excited us?

Now we could create a card, to show how we are feeling in a time of excitement.

You make me feel…

I feel special when you…

To be able to sequence events in the correct order.

Grammar

To be able to identify nouns.

Look around the classroom and say what you can see.

Can you identify the nouns in these sentences?

The door is opening by itself.

On Wednesday Millie is having a cake.

Today's lesson!

Mrs Mahmood computer broke when she was typing the instructions for her group to make a jam sandwich.

Can you help her to put the steps the children need to take in the correct order?

Let's read these instructions together. Can you think of actions for each step?

Place two slices of bread on the plate.

Cut the sandwich into four squares or four triangles.

Spread jam on one of the slices.

Eat and enjoy your sandwiches while they are fresh.

Take the slice of bread with no jam on and put it on top of the jammed slice.

Can you follow the instructions now they are in the correct order?

Can we use different sized lines to express objects that are near and far?

Can we demonstrate different techniques to create a landscape in the style of David Hockney?

David Hockney uses different sized lines and different thicknesses to show things that are near (foreground) and things that are far (back ground).

What do you notice about the picture above?
What can you notice about the different sizing in the picture?
Can you notice where the colours go lighter and darker?

Over the last few weeks, we have learned to paint straight and curved lines. We have used thick and thin paint brushes to show objects that are near and far and we have have mixed primary colours to create new colours.

Today is your opportunity to use these skills to paint a landscape in the style of David Hockney.

To be able to find and compare the mass of a range of objects using non-standard units
