To write the opening of an innovated story using ‘but’ in a sentence - Independent Write

Today you will write the opening of your story INDEPENDENTLY!

Remember to include:

  • 'But' in a sentence
  • Capital letters for names and at the start of a sentence
  • Full stops
  • Finger Spaces
  • Use your Alphabet strip to help you with Capital letters.

Do we know what to do if there is an accident or if someone is hurt? 

Floppsy and Cotton-Tail are playing cops and robbers in the playground. They run into Benjamin and he falls over.  He cries because he has grazed his knee.

But Floppsy and Cotton-Tail continue playing!

What would you do if you were playing with Arman and Mustafa?

What would you do if you were playing hopscotch and saw it happening

When is it an emergency?

If there is an emergency,  it is VERY important to call 999, stay calm, answer the questions carefully, giving as much information as you can of what has happened, who is involved and where you are

It is a criminal offence to make a hoax call to the emergency services.

Lets have look at these different pictures and decide as a class if they are emergencies!
