Let's recap
- At an infant baptism, a child is welcomed into the church using water.
- There are important symbols such as water, the cross and a candle.
- During an infant baptism, parents and godparents make promises for the new child.
Infant baptism - a sacred ceremony where a baby is welcomed into the church family of God
Promise - an agreement to do or not do something
Godparent - an individual chosen by the parents to take a role in the child's Christian upbringing and development
Today you will name all the symbols that are part of a baptism. You will also explain a bit about why they are so important and what they represent.
