run-on sentence is when two or more independent clauses are joined without proper punctuation or conjunctions. This makes the sentence grammatically incorrect and hard to follow.

For example:

I love reading it helps me relax.

Should be:

I love reading. It helps me relax.

OR

I love reading because it helps me to relax.

Can you correct these run-on sentences by punctuating them correctly or joining the clauses with a conjunction?

  1. I went to the park it was raining.
  2. Sam loves football he plays every weekend.
  3. The dog barked loudly the baby started to cry.
  4. We made cupcakes they were delicious.
  5. The sun was setting the sky turned orange and pink.

Today we will complete our revision, ready to move on to new learning.

Adapted

Today I want to talk about something very important: words and actions.

Have you ever promised to tidy your room… and then didn’t?
Or said you would help a friend… but forgot?

It’s easy to say something. But the big question is: Do you mean what you say?

Telling the truth is very important. When we tell the truth, people can trust us. And trust is like glue — it holds friendships together.

But there’s something even more important. Do our actions match our words?

If we say, “I’m sorry,” do we try not to hurt someone again?
If we say, “I’ll help,” do we actually help?
If we say, “I’ll try my best,” do we really try?

When our actions match our words, that’s called integrity. Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

A long time ago, there was a man called Francis of Assisi. He believed in loving and helping others. He didn’t just talk about being kind — he gave away all his wealth to the poor. He once said:

“Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary.”

What he meant was this: your actions can speak louder than your words.

So today, let’s try to:

  • Tell the truth.

  • Keep our promises.

  • Let our actions show kindness.

  • Be people others can trust.

Because when our words and actions match, we show who we truly are.
