What kind of person is standing up on the chariot?

How do you know?

What reasons could you suggest for honouring a person in such a way?

Now let's listen to a song about this famous warrior queen.

What words are used to describe her?

Boudicca

Now we have looked at the image and listened to the song, what do you want to know about Boudicca and what she did?

LC: To be able to produce a drama sketch of Guru Nanak’s life and describe his significance.

This week we will be watching a clip about the story of Guru Nanak.

Let's discuss each freeze frame:

You will now form groups and create a drama sketch highlighting the main events of Guru Nanak's life. You will need approximately five people in your group.

Scene 1: As a young boy Nanak listens to the village holy men. The men talk about religion and the best way to live. But Nanak is frustrated by their claims to know what is right.

(Nanak sits with two other men in the forest, discussing what they think god is)

Scene 2: Nanak is given goods to sell by his father. He goes to the market and gives away everything that he has to poor people instead of selling the items. He believed that he should help the poor.

Scene 3: Nanak goes to the river to bathe. He leaves his clothes in a neat pile and dives into the river. Nanak disappears below the water. Two days pass and Nanak's family and the villagers believe he must have drowned. Then, on the third day, Nanak reappears in exactly the same spot where he had disappeared.

Later, he explains that during his time under the water he had a vision of God - and that he has been given a message that he must share with as many people as he can. The message is that God loves everyone and that he wants everyone to live their lives peacefully with one another.
