Tuesday 14th April
LC: To include effective verbs and adverbs in a piece of writing.
Let’s recap the Diary Toolkit skills again!
We are going to use our plan to help us write paragraph 3 of our diary.
Before we begin writing, let's look back on to what we had wrote yesterday.
LC: To be able to find start or end times for events given the duration in hours.

RIC

R - Who was running as fast as she could?
I - Is Rachel dreaming? How do you know?
C - What verb describes what the goblins were doing?
LC: To predict what might happen from details stated and implied.
Remember...
A prediction isn’t what you want to happen next, it’s what you think will happen next, based on the story.
Stay true to what you know and don’t let your imagination run away with you!

- What has happened here?
- Why is the boy hanging from the tree?
- Why is she wearing ice skates but he isn’t?
- What might she be saying to him?
- How is he going to get down?
- What happened 5 minutes before this scene? What will happen 5 minutes after?

- What is the ogre doing? Why?
- Why is there a glowing light over the flower? Where is it coming from?
- What do you think is in the pouches on the ogre’s bag strap?
- Why were the children in the woods?
- Does he know that they are watching him?
- Do the children want him to know that they’re there?
- What is going to happen next?
Talk Partners

- Who is ‘Little Taylor’?
- What is Taylor doing? Why?
- What happened before this picture?
- What is Taylor going to do? Is it the right thing to do? What are his reasons?
- What’s going to happen next?

LC: To make careful and accurate observations, including the use of standard units.
Can we identify and describe the functions of flowering plants?
Can we grow broad beans from seeds and carefully observe over time?
