Let's explore.

Let's learn.

Let's try the guided practice together.

Turn to page 55 and 56.

To use adjectives effectively to describe nouns.
Let's take another look at the information on the persuasive advert we looked at yesterday.

Which adjectives have been used to describe the village?
Which of these adjectives is a Y2 spelling?
Which other adjectives have we seen in other adverts?
We will read the sentence again without the adjectives, then you copycat their reading. What effect does using adjectives have on the information?
The bird sanctuary is a wonderful place where beautiful birds can live safely and happily, and you can visit to see them up close!
You can walk along peaceful paths, listen to birds singing, watch them flying and feeding, and even learn fun facts about different kinds of birds at the magical bird sanctuary!
At the bird sanctuary, you can see the most amazing, colourful birds in the whole world and play in a thrilling, amazing play area that feels as big as a jungle adventure!
Write a list of adjectives to describe your bird sanctuary and the attractions there.
Now, let's use these examples and adjectives to help write our own persuasive sentence for our advert.

Can you investigate and create different textures using pencil lines?
What is texture in drawing and painting?
There are two types of texture:
- actual texture that you can feel
- visual texture that you can see
When you make a drawing or painting with texture, you are showing how something feels.
You can use different kinds of marks that show texture in your artwork.
There are lots of different types of texture. Things can be:
- smooth or rough
- hard or soft
- wet or dry
- matt or shiny
Make some texture marks on the paper. With each pencil or crayon, you could make some:
- small and large circles
- zig-zags
- dots and dashes
- a mix of straight neat lines and rough messy lines

We are going to go outside to draw the beautiful trees we have growing in our school grounds, including the different textures of the tree trunk, the leaves and the flowers.
