Monday

Today we will have a go at review 4 - Multiplication of 2, 5 and 10.

Turn to page 106, 107 and 108.

Grammar Warm Up

Expanded noun phrases add more detail to the noun by adding one or more .

For example:

huge tree

some colourful sweets

the large, royal castle

Listen to and discuss a text as a class.

Today we are going to finish reading the last chapters of our novel. Talk to your partner about what you think of the story so far. Remember to use because in your sentence to explain why you like it or not.

For example:

I like the parts when Plop asks his mum if he should go now because she just replies "Now!" because she wants to rest.

When we share our ideas, we will be saying what our partner thinks, so listen carefully and take part in the conversation!

Use the sentence opener:

My partner thinks.... because....

Can you explain how to give directions?

We are going to be learning to read and draw simple maps and give directions

Maps can be drawings or models. They can help you find where you are and where you are going.

They show symbols (pictures) for places such as car parks or places of worship like churches. They also have a key, which tells you what the symbols mean.

A compass showing 8 compass points

Maps can help you find your way using directions.

You can use a compass to find out which direction you are facing.

What vocabulary do you think we will need to give directions?

Left, right, forwards, backwards, up, down, clockwise, anti clockwise...

First, we are going to be giving clear instructions to move your partner around the playground.

Then, we are going to help Goldilocks.

Look at these instructions. Where do you think Red Riding Hood is going?

Can we tell from these directions? What are the directions missing?

Now, try these. Where will Red Riding Hood end up?

On seesaw record the instructions to help Goldilocks get to the castle.
