To orally rehearse sentences.

Think about the fire we went to this morning.

Can you write some words to describe the fire and write them around the picture?

• What did the fire sound like?
• What did the fire look like?
• What did it smell like? 

We are going to use some of these words to rehearse sentences for our poem. We are going to start our sentence with 'the' and end it with an ed word. 

'The fire cracked

 Practice your sentence with your partner and we will share some with the class.  

Adaptive Teaching

Write the list of words as a group.

Allow the children to come up with the words, what does the word start with? How do we write that? Can you write it in the air?  Can we segment the word together?

Think of a word for the end of the sentence. 'The fire is... (choose a cvc word such as hot, big, red)
