To be able to solve picture problems involving subtraction.

We have learned to:

Subtract by crossing out

Subtract by counting back

Subtract using a part-whole model

Can we use these methods to solve this problem?

Remember to read the question carefully and subtract the items we do not want. 

Now complete 63 & 64.

Maths (Adaptive teaching)

Subtraction To 10

Play the game together first. 

Model using counters for subtracting using the language of the week:

I need 5 counters to start. I take away 1. How many do I have left?

Continue with children using counters and you pressing your iPad for the first round.

Allow children to play independently. You will need to type in Top Marks Subtraction to 10 on their iPads. 

Write poems with simple structures.

 

You are going to write a poem independently. 

 

We are looking for: 

spaces between words 

ed words at the end of each sentence 

If you want a challenge, to include words that rhyme! 

 

Adaptive Teaching

Children stay in class using a writing frame and write 4 words to describe the fire.
