The Mysterious Letter
Oliver was sitting at his desk, staring at the envelope in front of him. It was plain, unmarked, and the paper had a smooth, almost glossy feel to it. There was no address, no return name—nothing but the single word, “OPEN” written in bold letters across the front. He hesitated. His mind raced with questions. Who had sent it? Why was there no name? Was it a prank?
He glanced over at the clock. It was getting late, and his parents would be home soon. But something inside him told him he had to open it. Slowly, he slid his finger under the flap, tearing it open with a soft rip. Inside was a single piece of paper, folded neatly. He unfolded it, his heart beating faster with each movement. It simply read:
"The key is hidden where you least expect it."
Oliver looked at the letter in confusion, then back at the clock. Something told him the mystery was only just beginning.
