What is a main idea?
It's what the paragraph is mostly about.
What is a summary?
It's a short way to say the most important things.
Steps to Identify Main Ideas and Summarise

Read each paragraph carefully.

Ask: "What is this paragraph mostly about?"

Look for the most important facts or ideas.

Write 1 or 2 short sentences to say the main points.

Put all the main points together into a short summary.
Example
Paragraph 1:
Bees live in hives. They work together to build their homes using wax. Each bee has a job to do.
Main Idea:
Bees live in hives and work together to build them.
Paragraph 2:
Bees collect nectar from flowers. They turn it into honey and store it in the hive. The honey is food for the bees.
Main Idea:
Bees collect nectar to make honey for food.
Summary of both paragraphs
Bees live in hives and work together to build them. They collect nectar from flowers to make honey, which they eat.

Today we are going to choose another name for our warrior. Let's have a look at some names and meanings.
Now we have chosen a name, we need to add it to our plan.

Last week we wrote a character description about our main character. Today you are going to write a character description about your female warrior. Use the learning wall and previous learning about Boudicca!

When you are out in the sun for a long period of time, how do you start feeling? Discuss with your talk partners.

Today, we are going to learn about the dangers of direct sunlight and how we can keep protected.

There are many keywords that we need to focus on. Watch the video again and see if you can hear some of these keywords:
- Ultra violet Radiation - UV
Where does it come from?
- Risk
Are we at risk when UV levels are high or low?
- Sunburn
What happens to our skin?
You are now going to create a poster on sketches about the dangers of UV.
The title of your poster will be: Safe in the Sun.
- You have to include the three main keywords highlighted in yellow above.
- You have to explain ways that you could protect yourself from the sun.
