On a sunny Sunday afternoon, Noah’s family headed for the countryside. They climbed into the car right after lunch. As dad drove  down the road, the children looked through the windows at the passing scenery.  Alya was excited when she saw some horses eating grass in the fields. She asked if they could stop to pet them. Dad said “No!”, but mum told him they had time to stop. The children  got out of the car and walked toward the field. The horses ran to the gate when they saw the family. Alya held out one of the apples they had brought with them. One of the horses took it from her and munched it. Back in the car, Alya thanked her dad for letting them spend some time with the horses.

Who Is Boudicca?

Everyone agrees that Boudicca was royal. She was very tall and her voice was harsh. Boudicca was a fierce warrior. She had long tawny (orange-brown) hair down to her hips.  Boudicca wore a multi-coloured tunic and a thick mantle fastened with a brooch. Around her neck she wore a large golden necklace.

Boudicca was very charming leader. People wanted to follow her.  She inspired neighbouring tribes to join her revolt. Her name will never be forgotten.

Challenge

This morning, the town has a new resident in the form of a stranger, who has appeared out of nowhere and has taken up residence on the town’s old, wooden bench because he apparently has nowhere else to go. This development took place overnight, with the town’s residents waking to this stinking, old man and his little, black dog. The stranger, nicknamed Mr Stink by locals, is sporting a bow tie and tweed jacket. However, one eyewitness commented, “His beard is disgusting; it’s full of old bits of egg and sausage and cheese that look like they’ve been there for years!”

What might the locals be thinking when they see the stranger in their town?
