Now we are going to complete the first two parts of our KWL Grid.
What do we know about Paddington?
What do we want to know about him?
To be able to describe rotation using vocabulary such as 'quarter turn', 'half turn' and 'three-quarter turn'. To be able to describe direction using vocabulary such as 'clockwise' and 'anticlockwise'.
What are directions and turns?
Directions and turns can be used to explain a journey.
Directions are instructions like 'three steps forward' or 'one step backwards'. These tell you how far to go.
Turns can be clockwise (the same way the hands on a clock move) or anti-clockwise (the opposite way to a clock's hands).
You can turn a quarter, half or complete turn - this would take you back to where you started.
We are going outside to practice clockwise, anti clockwise, quarter turns, half turns and three quarter turns.
Can you reflect on the symbols that Christians use in their community?
unite: to come or bring together for a common purpose or action
We have learned that a community often has a badge or symbol to show that everyone belongs because they have shared interests or beliefs.
We know as a Right's Respecting School that we are free to believe what we want. Article 14 states:
Every child has the right to think and believe what they want and practice their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights.
We know that we don't all think the same thoughts or share the same opinions, but that's what makes us special.
Christian beliefs and practices are not be exactly the same- and that's OK!! These symbols show us that Christians believe their religion teaches them about love, hope and peace amongst other things.
What do you think these symbols represent to the Christian community?

The cross represents …
