To be able to solve word problems using multiplication facts from the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
Let’s try answering the question below by using our whiteboards.
Turn to page 79.
To know that commas are used to separate items in a list.
When we looked at our last story about Arty, we learned that he loved his bridge and that he danced, cooked and played his flute.
If we write a list of more than two things, we need to use commas to separate items.
Look again at what Arty did.
I danced, cooked and played my flute.
Notice that there is a comma separating the first two activities and the word 'and' before the last activity.
Today, we are going to write a list of things Tom took on his new adventure using commas in a list, but first, let's look at other sentences with commas in a list:
He bought a map, packed his bag and set off.
He hopped, bounded and leapt across the ice.
Now let's look at an example of a list of items he took with him.
He took a torch, a sleeping bag and a fishing rod.
Your task is to write a list of three other things he took using the sentence above as a model. Remember to use a capital letter and full stop.
Being aware of our emotions can help us talk about feelings more clearly, avoid or resolve conflicts better, and move past difficult feelings more easily.
You are going to create a face showing one of the feelings we read about in the Colour Monster. You are going to roll, fold, tear and curl paper to create your face.
