Learn and recite a range of poems using appropriate intonation

Yesterday we looked at the poem 5 Little Pumpkins. Let's remind ourselves of how we use different sounds in our voices to read with expression.

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate
The first one said, "Oh my, it's getting late!"
The second one said, "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
Ooh, went the wind and out went the light
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight

Here are some ideas from other children about how the poem can be changed using other characters.

Let's think of some other characters, where they might be sitting and how they might move.

Maths

To be able to understand that multiplication is the same as repeated addition of equal groups.

Let’s look at this problem together.

Let’s learn.

ACTIVITY:

Science

Can you research what a habitat and a micro habitat?

Habitats are places where animals and plants live. The plants and animals - including humans - in a habitat need each other to survive. Most things live in habitats to which they are suited and different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants.

Talk to your partner. Can you name any habitats?

How can we find out about different habitats? Where can we look?

You are going to research habitats using different sources of information, the internet and information books.

Go to Seesaw and click on this picture.

What is a habitat?

Write a list of habitats you found out about.
