Remember to read the questions carefully and answer to your best ability.

Estimate

definition: to make a careful guess about the amount, size, or worth of.

I can estimate the height of my water bottle. 

I can estimate the length of my pencil. 

 

Significant

definition: being or causing something of importance.

It was a small but significant victory, because it gave the team confidence that it could win.
Other than price, there is no significant difference between these products.
Format
definition: the way in which something is arranged or organized.
An encyclopedia uses an alphabetical format to display information.
The test used a multiple-choice format.
Devoted
Definition: true or loyal.
She is a devoted football fan.
A khalifah is devoted to Islam.
 
Visible
definition: able to be seen.
The skyscraper is visible from across the river.

Innovation
Definition: a new idea, product, or way to do something.
Thanks to innovations in technology, most people can now make use of a computer.
The stories that we wrote are innovations of the Lost and Found Story.

Grammar

Using the spelling rule for ‘s’ and ‘es’ 

When making singular nouns plural we add 's', for example- 

 If the singular noun ends in s, ss, sh, ch, x, z and o then we add an 'es' at the end for example- 

With your talk partners, see if you can make these singular words into plural using 's' and 'es'!

In English this week we will be looking different animal poetry and by the end of the week you will be innovating and writing your own animal poem!

We are going to start by reading and listening to a poem called 'Pet Shopping'. Before I read the poem, with your talk partners make a prediction what do you think the poem might be about by reading the title?

- What animals do you remember from the poem?

- What animals would you change in the poem if you were the writer?

- Do you have a favourite animal?

- Did you hear any good rhyming words or adjectives?
