To look for number patterns focusing on one more and one less.

Show me on your ten frames how many drinks will be in the next group.

I will read a pattern of numbers. Use your number line to follow the pattern. When I clap, you say the next number in the pattern.

Now let's see play with numbers counting backwards.

Your turn:

Use your number line to think of a pattern of numbers. Share it with a clap at the end. We have to describe your pattern as increasing or decreasing by 1. You could use a pattern like the last one in the picture above.

Now complete pages 99 & 100.

To use question marks to demarcate some sentences.

Can you remember what a noun and adjective is? 

We are going to complete a modelled write about the dragon we labelled on Friday. 

We are going to use adjectives in our sentences and the challenge is to include the word and!!

Have a look at how the spotted hyena introduces himself. We are going to introduce our dragon in the same way. 

 

We are going to choose a name for your dragon and model write. 

Include a dragon name and how do you do?

 

Tomorrow you are going to get a different dragon from Zog and you will write a new description independently for the dragon. 

 

Adaptive Teaching 

Review Friday's learning and the labels for the dragon. 

Model writing. Ask the children how to write I etc.

Ask the children what they want to write about. Make sure it it is phonically decodable (red wings, big tail)
