Holy books are very sacred in religion and should be looked after as so. We will be looking at two holy books today, The Qur'an and the Bible. We need to be careful with these books and there are some very important rules we must follow with our holy books.

For the Quran you must:

  • Wash your hands before touching the Quran.
  • No eating whilst touching the Quran
  • Store the Quran in a clean, dedicated space.
  • Use a Quran cover or wrap to protect it.

When reading the Bible you must:

  • Pray as you read.
  • Find the right translation.
  • Find a Bible reading plan.
  • Make it a daily habit.
  • Make it your first priority.

The Qur’an is the holy book that contains the teachings of Allah given to the Prophet Muhammad. Many Muslims believe that Allah gave Muhammad these teachings because all earlier religious texts were no longer reliable.

The Qur’an is relevant for all people at all times in their life. It is believed to have only come from Allah, which makes it the most important book for Muslims.

The Bible

The Christian holy book is the Bible. It is divided into the Old and New Testaments.

The New Testament explains how God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to restore the broken relationship between people and God which had been caused by human wrong-doing.

Which celebrations have we already learned about at school?

Christmas is coming up soon, does anyone know how Christians celebrate Christmas?
