The Hidden Path
The wind tugged at Mia’s jacket as she stepped deeper into the forest. The trees loomed above her, their branches twisting together like tangled fingers. Somewhere ahead, a narrow path curved out of sight, half-hidden by ferns and shadows.
Mia hesitated. Her heart thudded loudly in her chest, but she tightened her grip on the map and moved forward. With every step, the forest seemed to grow quieter, as if it were holding its breath. Then, just as she reached the bend in the path, she noticed something glinting on the ground — a small, silver key.
