LC: To multiply 2 digit by 3 digit numbers
Isla crept through the doorway, careful not to let the old wooden door creak behind her. The library was unlike any she had ever seen — tall, twisting bookshelves stretched up into the shadows above, and the air smelled of dust, ink, and something else... something like magic.
She paused at a shelf labelled “Books That Whisper”. As she reached out, a soft voice floated from between the pages of a thick, leather-bound volume. It didn’t speak words she could understand, but it felt like the book was trying to tell her something important. Isla’s fingers tingled as she touched the spine.
Behind her, a faint tapping sound echoed through the room — tap, tap... tap. She spun around, heart thumping, but the room was empty.
For now.
