LC: Draw inferences such as inferring characters’ feelings from their actions.
Whole Class
What is a feeling?
Why do good readers infer character feelings?
Good readers think about how the characters in the story are feeling and almost 'put themselves in their shoes' to try to imagine the full picture of what is happening. This can also help the reader to understand what the character is thinking.

I am going to model inferring character feelings. Here is an extract taken from Matilda by Roald Dahl:

I think Matilda is feeling _________because ______________________.
Independent

I think Laszlo is feeling _______________because _________________________________.
