To identify important words/phrases that make instructions easy to follow.
Yesterday, we looked at what the author uses to make instructions easy to follow. We call these FEATURES. One useful feature of a set of instructions is IMPERATIVE VERBS (the actions we have to take). We can think of these as 'bossy words' because they tell us what to do really clearly.
Look at the instructions from yesterday and answer these questions with your partner.
How many squirts of soap do you need?
What should you use to turn of the tap?
Can you identify any other imperative verbs in the instructions?
Where are they in each sentence?
Look through the instructions below and write a list of imperative verbs in your book.

What is sculpture?
To help us answer this question, we need to use vocabulary that sculptors use when they work.
Sculptor - a person who creates sculptures
Sculpture - a 3D form of art that can be seen from all sides.
3D - something that has length, width and depth (not a picture drawn on a flat page)
Form - the visible shape of something
You might remember that we use 2D and 3D when we learn about shape in Maths.
