Lets compare
Grammar
I can use full stops at the end of a simple sentence.
Provide sentence cards correctly punctuated and others missing full stops. Give cards to children and ask them to work with a partner to decide: “Does this sentence have a full stop?”
Model checking: “I have finished my sentence, but there is no full stop. I need to add one.” Children sort the sentences into ‘Full stop’ and ‘Missing full stop’ groups. Re-read the corrected sentences together.
Identify and discuss the main characters in stories.

Read pages 19 – 24 to discover how Harry helped the bat.
Discuss what mole and bat would say to Harry to thank him for what he has done. Complete some drama with some children being the mole and some the bat.

Discuss all the ways we might say thank you
Thank you for being kind, thank you for saving me, thank you for keeping me safe. The children need to write an independent thank you note to Harry.
Adaptive- Thank you.
