Friday
To be able to order numbers to 10, and know which number is greater or is lesser in value.

- Give each child a number card.
- Ask children to work together to stand in the correct order from 0 to 10.
- Once ordered, ask questions such as:
- Which number is greater: 4 or 7?
- Which number is less: 9 or 6?
- What number comes before 5?
- What number comes after 8?
Big Question
Are our feet bigger than our heads?
Ask the children:
- Put your hands up if you think your foot is bigger than your head.
- Put your hands up if you think your head is bigger than your foot.
- How could we find out?
Explain:
"Scientists don't just guess. They test their ideas and collect evidence."
Discuss and Predict
Ask:
- Is my hand the same size as my foot?
- How could I find out?
- Is my foot as long as my head?
- What could I use to compare them?
Model making a prediction:
"I predict that my foot will be bigger than my head because..."
Children share their predictions with their talk partner.

Can you do some more copy cat reading?
We are going to do some drama and pretend to be the frog.
'I am stuck on the log. I need help. I don't want to drown. I jumped up high and I am in the sky.'

You are going to help me write in this speech bubble.
We are going to write one of the sentences we said as the frog.
We need to remember to use a capital letter for the personal pronoun 'I'.
Now its your turn!
