Write each sentence out on paper and add a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark to the end of each one.

  1. I went to the park to play on the swings
  2. I love going to the zoo
  3. Why is it is so hot
  4. What are you doing for your birthday party
  5. Katy skipped down the road
  6. I hate it when it rains

Remember:

  • Full stops go at the end of sentences.
  • Question marks go at the end of questions.
  • Exclamation marks show surprise, force or anger.

We will be focusing on chunk 2 and introduce Zabina the owl, we will be including a description and her character traits.

We will watch some videos on owls and add to our grid on owls from this morning's reading lesson. 

 

Teacher model: Use all the information/poems explored to create a short burst poem.  We will Structure the poem via the sequence explored for each physical feature.

 


 

Your turn: Using the teacher model write your own poem using the sequence below. Children can plan their own. Remember you must include noun phrases and some similes.
