LC: To locate and press natural products.
On Friday, in our business groups, we are going to make a product to sell.
We will make either a book mark or a card!
Talk Partners
Do you think it will be better to use natural materials for our product?
If so, why?
Can you think of any natural materials (we might find outdoors) that would make our product stand out?
Let's go outside, locate and collect flowers and leaves!
🌼 How to Make Dried Pressed Flowers
Pick the Flowers- Choose flowers that are dry (not wet from rain or dew).
- Pick ones that are small and flat, or gently trim thick parts.
Prepare the Flowers
- Remove any unwanted leaves or thick stems.
- If the flower is thick, you can cut it in half.
Place the Flowers in Paper
- Put each flower between a folded piece of paper (tracing paper).
Put the Flowers in a Book
- Place the paper with flowers inside a heavy book.
- Close the book and add more heavy books on top.
Leave Them to Dry
- Don’t open the book too soon—they need time to dry fully.

A tree: he must find a tree to climb. Wolves can outrun anything but they cannot climb trees. He stumbled on, looking wildly around him but the trees were all pines with smooth, icy trunks. The wolf-cries drew nearer. He looked back. Dim shapes moved in the dark beneath the trees. He plunged forward, gasping. They had seen him now. A few seconds more and they would be upon him. He glanced about and ploughed through the snow, the wolves at his heels. He leapt; his hands closed around the lowest branch and he swung his legs clear of the ground as the first wolf lunged in a flurry of snow.
R - Why should Ivan climb a tree?
I - How is Ivan feeling? How do you know?
