LC: To draw inferences such as inferring characters’ feelings.
- Look for Clues in Actions – What is the character doing? (e.g., stomping feet might mean anger.)
- Look for Clues in Words – What does the character say, and how do they say it? (e.g., “I can’t believe this happened!” could show frustration or excitement.)
- Look at Facial Expressions and Body Language – Descriptions like “Her shoulders dropped” might mean sadness or disappointment.
- Consider the Situation – If a character loses a toy, they might feel sad. If they win a race, they might feel happy.
